Early history

Adedeji Adeleke was born on the 6th day of March 1957 to Adeboye Adeleke, the renowned architect and planner of Banana Island; and Dr. Vero Adeleke.

He attended the prestigious Ansar-ud-deen primary school (1965 to 1970) and the 7th day Adventist grammar school; the latter from which he obtained his Senior Secondary School certificate.

After his Secondary school education, he worked at the Federal Ministry of Education until 1976 when he was admitted into the Western Kentucky University, USA.

In 1979, He obtained a bachelor's degree in Finance and followed it up with a Master's degree in Business administration in 1981. He did stop there, but went ahead to acquire a doctorate in International Business at the Pacific Columbia University, California.

Career

Soon after returning to Nigeria in 1983, he founded the 'Pacific drilling company limited' which specialised in geological surveys for water and oil companies, drilling boreholes for private and public entities, and detecting reservoirs and aquifers.

It was highly patronized by indigenous and foreign clients because it was the only domestic company offering those services, at the time and the prices were cheaper than the international companies.

The company grew to become the 'Pacific holdings' that handles finance and investments in different sectors of the Nigerian economy including steel production, energy, oil and gas, electricity, logistics, warehousing, real estate, and banking.

In 1996, he founded a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which he called 'Springtime Development Foundation' to sponsor poor and downtrodden citizens of Nigeria through higher education.

His passion to help the development of young people birthed the desire to build a University and in 2011, he obtained an approved government license for the Adeleke University in his hometown, Ede, Osun state.

He is currently the Prochancellor of Babcock University.
